Dr. Peter Rubin is a board-certified internist and gastroenterologist. A native of Quincy, Massachusetts, he has degrees from Harvard and the University of Rochester School of Medicine. His postdoctoral training included internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, serving as Chief Medical Resident. His gastroenterology fellowship was done at Mount Sinai as well, and he was appointed Chief GI Fellow. In addition to his practice of gastroenterology and internal medicine, he has published and lectured in gastroenterology, written review, and research articles in peer-reviewed journals, co-authored a book on colonoscopy, and teaches Fellows in Gastroenterology at Mount Sinai and in the Icahn School of Medicine.
At Mount Sinai Dr. Rubin has served as President of the Association of Attendings and President of the Medical Board, and has been honored with the Jacoby Medallion for service to Mount Sinai. Dr. Rubin has been active in the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America, has served on its Board and has been honored at their annual fundraiser.
In what time remains, Dr. Rubin studies classical piano, jogs (completing 14 NY City Marathons), sails, participates in a book group, and writes blogs on medical and religious subjects.
